May 22 (Citizen News) - The Irrigation Department has warned of a possible minor flood situation in several low-lying areas of the Kalu Ganga basin within the next 24 hours due to heavy rainfall.
According to water level data and current weather conditions, flood risks have been identified in the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Ratnapura, Kuruwita, Ayagama, Elapatha and Kiriella in the Ratnapura District.
Residents in the affected areas, along with motorists and commuters, have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, while Disaster Management authorities have been requested to take appropriate action.
