June 27 (Citizen News) – US President Donald Trump has warned that countries imposing digital services taxes on American companies could face a 100% tariff on goods exported to the United States.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump said several countries, particularly in Europe, are considering new digital tax measures targeting US technology firms. He stressed that any nation moving forward with such policies would be met with immediate trade action.
According to Trump, the proposed tariffs would apply regardless of existing or future trade agreements, reinforcing the US administration’s long-standing opposition to digital services taxes that it says unfairly single out American businesses.
