February 17 (Citizen.lk News)- The Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Lammy , has arrived in Sri Lanka today for his first official visit to the island nation.
Upon his arrival a short while ago, he was formally welcomed by the UK High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Andrew Patrick who shared the news via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The visit aims to strengthen the UK–Sri Lanka partnership through high-level talks with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on bilateral cooperation. Additionally, Deputy PM David Lammy will assess the UK’s humanitarian aid efforts for communities devastated by Cyclone Ditwah, meeting with local partners to oversee the ongoing recovery support.
