Sri Lanka to Simplify Business Registration Process Starting March

The Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development is changing how businesses are registered to make the process easier for everyone. Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe noted that the current system is too complicated and requires too much paperwork.

One major problem is that different offices currently use different rules. This lack of a single standard has made it very difficult for people to start new businesses in different parts of the country.

To fix this, a new, simplified system will be launched in March. The goal is to create one clear set of rules for all registration offices to follow.

This change is expected to save time for entrepreneurs and help grow the local economy by cutting down on red tape.
