February 18 (Citizen.lk News) - The Sri Lanka Air Force, which carries out the heavy responsibility of protecting the country's airspace with the theme "Surakimu Lakambara", has prepared its arrangements to celebrate its proud 75th anniversary on March 02, 2026. A media briefing in this regard was held at the Air Force Headquarters on the 18th.
Accordingly, a series of programs including a golf tournament, an Air Force bike ride, an educational exhibition, an air show and a musical concert are scheduled to be held from February to mark the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
This series of programs has been organized under the direct guidance and supervision of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe.
Airshow and Technical Exhibition
As a special feature of the anniversary, an airshow and an educational exhibition featuring aviation technical knowledge has been organized to be held at the Ratmalana Air Force Base on March 7th, 8th and 9th.
Air Force Cycling Tour
All arrangements are in place to hold the 27th Air Force Cycling Tour on February 27, 28 and March 01. The tour, which will be held in accordance with international standards, is expected to attract a large number of local and international athletes.
The Sri Lanka Air Force, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Cycling Federation, will be the main sponsors of the Air Force Cycle Ride, while Cosmic Technologies Pvt Ltd, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Sri Lanka Insurance Cooperation, Bank of Ceylon, Unilever Sri Lanka, Asian Paints (Causeway), Metropolitan Technologies, National Lotteries Board, Maliban Biscuits Pvt Ltd and CEAT Kalani Holdings will provide sponsorship.
Air Force Commander’s Cup Golf Tournament
The 13th annual ‘Air Force Commander’s Cup’ Open Golf Tournament is all set to be held on February 20th and 21st at the beautiful China Bay Eagles Links, close to the Trincomalee Harbour.
In this golf tournament, in parallel with the Air Force Commander's Trophy, competitors representing the three armed forces will also compete for the Eagles Challenge Trophy, awarded to the best tri-services serviceman in both male and female categories.
The Air Force Commander's Golf Tournament, which is scheduled to feature a number of local and foreign sportsmen and women, is a unique opportunity to promote sports tourism, a facet of Sri Lankan tourism. Three golf courses built by the Air Force in the areas of Anuradhapura, Koggala and China Bay are already playing a significant role, and the Sri Lanka Air Force has made a direct contribution to strengthening the local economy.

Commander's Cup Golf Tournament is scheduled to be held on the evening of 21st February 2026 under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe.
“Symphony of Wings” Musical Concert
The “Symphony of Wings” musical concert is scheduled to be held on March 28th at 7:00 PM at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Colombo, with the aim of raising funds for the social welfare programs organized by the Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit.
