Seven Feared Dead as Air Ambulance Crashes in Jharkhand Forest

February 24( Citizen.lk News)-A Beechcraft C90 air ambulance operated by Redbird Airways crashed in the dense forests of Jharkhand’s Chatra district last night, leaving all seven people on board feared dead. The aircraft was transporting a 41-year-old male patient with severe burns from Ranchi to New Delhi for advanced medical care when it vanished from radar approximately 100 nautical miles southeast of Varanasi.

According to the DGCA, the flight departed Birsa Munda Airport at 7:11 PM and lost all communication shortly after 7:34 PM. While authorities have confirmed the crash occurred near Simaria, the remote and rugged terrain has hampered the official confirmation of casualties. This tragic accident marks another significant safety crisis for India’s aviation sector as investigators work to determine why the medical evacuation flight went down mid-journey.
