June 26 (Citizen News) – Deputy Minister of Energy Arkam Ilyas told Parliament today (26) that owners of rooftop solar power systems with capacities exceeding 300 kW have been requested to shut down their systems from June 27 to June 29.
He said the decision has been taken to ensure stability of the national electricity grid and to avoid possible disruptions during the Poson festival period.
He further explained that inadequate monitoring frameworks in the past, along with the rapid expansion of solar installations, have contributed to periods of excess electricity generation, which can pose risks to grid stability.
