February 17(Citizen.lk News)-Train drivers in Colombo are walking off the job at midnight tonight.
General Secretary of the Locomotive Operating Engineers’ Union, Dimuthu Edirisinghe said,the strike is to protest against the government's decision to recruit a group of security forces personnel for driver training, bypassing the standard competitive recruitment process . He also mentioned that the strike will be started from tomorrow onwards except major delays or total cancellations starting tomorrow morning.
