January 9 (Citizen.lk News) - One lane of the Colombo–Kandy main road will be temporarily closed near Kadawatha owing to ongoing construction work, police said.
The closure affects a 500-metre stretch from the Kadawatha interchange towards Mirigama. Police said that as construction continues, one lane of the road in the Bandarawatte–Puwakpitiya area will remain closed until March 15, 2026.
Traffic restrictions will be enforced during this period, and motorists travelling to and from Colombo have been advised to use alternative routes to minimise inconvenience.
