February 18 (Citizen.lk News)-During a historic visit to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva described the nation’s economic recovery as a "success story." The meeting, marking the 75th anniversary of both the CBSL and Sri Lanka’s IMF membership, focused on the progress made since the 2022 crisis.
Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe thanked the IMF for its critical support in debt restructuring and technical policy modeling. Commending the Central Bank for restoring macroeconomic stability, Ms. Georgieva expressed a "vote of confidence" in Sri Lanka's future growth, provided the country remains committed to vital structural reforms.
