Former SIS Head Suresh Sallay Arrested Over Easter Sunday Attacks

February 25 ( Citizen.lk News)-The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Retired Major General Suresh Sallay early this morning in Peliyagoda. Sallay is the former head of the State Intelligence Service (SIS).

The arrest is linked to ongoing investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks. At the time of the bombings, Sallay served as a Brigadier in the Sri Lanka Army.

Sallay has held several high-ranking positions, including Director of the SIS and Defence Attachee to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Malaysia.

His arrest marks a significant development in the long-running probe into the intelligence failures and connections surrounding the 2019 attacks.
