February 25 ( Citizen.lk News)-A 63-year-old man died following a chain-reaction accident in the Madawala area of Pannipitiya yesterday morning. The crash involved a bus, a three-wheeler, and two parked lorries on the High Level Road.
The accident occurred when a three-wheeler, exiting a fuel station toward Kottawa, collided with a bus traveling toward Colombo. After the initial impact, the bus crashed into a parked lorry, which was then pushed into another lorry parked in front.
The three-wheeler driver, the bus crew, and six passengers were rushed to Homagama Hospital. Unfortunately, the three-wheeler driver—a local resident of Pannipitiya—succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.
Maharagama Police are currently conducting further investigations into the incident to determine the exact cause of the collision.
